MaryClaire will be here any minute! She has faked us out once already, I had false labor for 2 days a few weeks ago, but as of Friday my doctor said that I was 3cm dilated and that she had dropped. So this family is just (not so patiently) waitin' on the world to change over here. This belly pic was taken at 36 weeks, but since then it is has taken on a shape that I like to call the "Woa" shape! You know - the kind that gets bulging eyes and crazy stares in public. So before she comes, and life gets really crazy, I thought that I would FINALLY share pictures of her room!...
I tried to take a really simple approach and make a room that would last for a while. With this being my third baby, I've realized (so sadly) that nurseries just aren't needed for very long. But I love it's sweet simple/shabby-ish girliness. I saved a lot of money by using things that I already had around my house, using my childhood bedroom furniture (don't worry the crib is not vintage), shopping at consignment stores and on Ebay, and recruiting my mom to make a few things. Now all this room needs is its precious little occupant and it will be just perfect!

Next and somewhat less exciting - the "mommy car". We have decided on the Mazda CX9. It's a crossover between a van and an SUV with 3 rows. I went to look at one the other day and I think I am going to really like it.
I am going to be having ultrasounds every 2 weeks since I am high risk. The ultrasound tech tried really hard to figure out what gender Baby was this past Monday, but the little guy/gal was not quite ready to give up the secret (I think I know what I saw though :). I have another scan on the 27th and we should be able to tell by then! We have been very busy playing the baby name game over here too, I love Elisabeth Wilborn's baby name blog 
- I've still been working on the girl's room. I considered both of these large scale gingham fabrics for the window treatments. I loved the green, but settled for the pink because it really looked the best with the room. When I went back to the fabric store to order the pink gingham though, I found this...
... pink and white lattice print. Loved and ordered it instead! 
- I've been spending the majority of my time lately planning our church's Daddy Daughter dance (coming up this Saturday night) and it has pretty much taken over my life and my house! It's been fun, but I'll be glad when all the work is over! I will be sure to do a post all about the dance some time next week.
- Social Butterfly Miss Evie has/has had a whole slew of birthday parties to attend this week. Last weekend was a PJ party at O2B Kids for her "boyfriend". Check out this seriously prom pic...
... Oh Boy! Are we in for it or what?!!! Ben has been busy explaining to Evie that she does not have "boyfriends" only "friends that are boys". Good luck Babe! Ben and I were watching a movie the other day and there was a dad line in it that went like this... "I bench press refrigerators honey - I think your boyfriends oughtta know that" - ha!
- I shopped and worked at a spring children's consignment sale yesterday. This is one of my favorite sales every year. I love doing the volunteer shifts because it gives me an opportunity to be out of the house and to indulge in my affinity for children's clothes. I also get to shop for my own kids. I didn't buy as much this time as I usually do, but I love what I got...
... this precious 3T pants and top set for Annie to wear next fall and some great barely used name brand shoes!
Instead of choosing exact matching outfits for Evie and Anabelle, this time I chose mix and match coordinates - a little out of the box for me!
- We have still been getting our weekly fresh produce deliveries (plus this week we also ordered a fresh chicken and eggs!) 
This week we got this cauliflower/broccoli hybrid - a broccoflower? It's beautiful! It makes me think of this...
... Maybe I should rename it St. Basil's Broccoli? Basiloli? Basilflower? Basilbrocciflower?Basilocciower? Ok, now I'm just being a dork.
Evie and Anabelle were sick over the weekend which resulted in 3 whole days at home. A lot of that time was spent in my bed :)
So I passed a lot of the time (in between snuggles of course) perusing design sites

I finally decided where to hang things on the wall. Remember this project? I actually redid these wall letters weeks ago, but I had yet to determine their proper placement on the walls, and I needed to find something to add some height over the bed.
So I dug this vintage mirror out of my garage and put the letters on either side of the bed. Good, but not great. (You can tell I had sick kids by the state of their room - hence the humidifier - I didn't bother to hide it)
I decided to paint the mirror green and I moved some prints into the arrangement as well. I like it!

Next, I figured it was about time to get crackin' on some sort of plan for the window treatments. 
This is as far as I got. My mom has agreed to make valances (that will cover the craziness you see going on at the top) and I want to add some sort of coordinating trim going down the inner middle of the outside panels. What you see here is an assortment of pinned on trim samples and an (un-ironed) combination of these two products...
Sheers from Target and solids from Walmart, and I used a simple double rod to hang them together. I think (if my plan comes together as planned) that the generic solid panels will customize nicely. Time to visit the fabric store for swatches!
Up next on my agenda will be this vintage ceiling fan fixture (currently in my garage) from a garage sale a while back. The girl's room does not have great temperature control, so removing the fan to put in a chandelier is unfortunately not an option, but I think this fun "fan accessory" will be a great compromise. I wonder what a little spray paint will do?
