To Catch You Up...

I thought I would take a minute to quickly catch-up the blog on this quiet Sunday afternoon...

- Ben has been studying for a promotional test at work. For us that means that he is home more (yay?) but we have to tiptoe around as to not distract him (boo!) I am really proud of him and thankful for the way he works so hard for our family, but it's pretty boring around here :P

- My mom had surgery this past week and was hospitalized for a few days. She is doing well, but prayers for a speedy recovery would be appreciated!

- I have been/am still going through some medical tests concerning some heart palpitations and other symptoms. I ended up in the ER 2 weeks ago when my home monitor falsely indicated a heart attack. I was confident that I was not actually having a heart attack, but my doctor's late night phone call to my home, informing me that I "had to call 911 immediately", scared the mess out of me! I don't really have any answers yet, but will keep you posted. I honestly wonder if it could all be stress related? So far my cardiologist acts like that is a silly suggestion, but I think there could be something to it - hello I am raising 2 little girls!

- On a fun note, my brothers and I are making up a new game in which we find, view, and then force each other to watch "bad" movies. By "bad" I mean cheesy, train wreck, so terrible its awesome, etc. We are coming up with a rating system which will include categories that are good for points such as... love triangles, foreign accents, things that make you say "what?", etc. My brother Neal, has informed me that I have to blog about it - so here is your fair warning! I think Reed has a Facebook page in the works, so you will probably have the opportunity to play along. As if I wasn't nerdy enough already right? But seriously, I'm excited because I LOVE bad movies!

- Evie and Anabelle have been entranced by the book Olivia Goes to Venice ever since they got it for Christmas. Feeling inspired we took an afternoon trip to St. Augustine last weekend with the sole purpose of eating gelato. It was the best sort of afternoon outing because not only is gelato a very tasty treat, but St. Augustine also provides great people watching - another family favorite game. We all swear that we saw The Shadow Man. (pictures of Annie at the top are from our outing)

- We recently ordered Netflix connection on our Wii (suggested by Neal and as a result inspired the bad movie game) let's just say that I don't accomplish much after the kids go to bed lately! Wow! It's so great! This past week I've mostly been watching SNL seasons 35 and 36 and The War by Ken Burns. Big contradiction in entertainment taste, I know.

- I've made a few more necklaces (during my late night tv sessions) and I just started on some sewing projects for the girl's summer wardrobe. Will show pictures soon.
