Murphy's Law
The last week has been a Murphy's Law sort of week. Anything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Our move, which was scheduled for this weekend, ended up being double booked with tropical storm Fay - yay! Through the wind and the rain, Ben, our parents, my Aunt Nicole, and my brother Reed still managed to move everything out of our town house and into the garage of the new house. After sorting through every legal technicality possible, our closings finally took place yesterday afternoon. Certain pieces of the puzzle failed to come together due to the chaos in the area, surveys were not turned in, checks were forgotten, deeds were not signed, and the list goes on. Thankfully, we had a fantastic realtor and lawyer who knew how to pull some strings and work the system. We had to have a "dry closing" on our new house, which means that none of the money gets moved and the house does not "officially" belong to us until Monday. The surveyor never delivered the survey and he could not be found yesterday, so our bank will not pay the seller until it's in the file - what a drag. We lost power at my parent's house on Thursday (a third trimester night with no air conditioning is a nightmare!) plus Evie and I have miserable head colds! Through all of the craziness (and my complaining), God has been using my mom and Ben's mom to remind us that He is good (mom's are good at that). Please pray for Evie, who keeps asking to "go home", transition is really hard for little people. I'll try to update again soon!
