My Good Friend

So, today was not the best day. I have a tendency to have migraines on a fairly regular basis, and then occasionally I have REALLY bad ones. That was today. It was just me and the girls at home, and around noon my vision started to go out - never a good sign. I took some medicine and tried to just bull doze through it - but I just kept going down. Strobe light vision, nausea, my left arm went numb, pain... yuck! I called my mom, she had a migraine too (what are the chances?) but she came to stay with me and the girls until Ben could get home from work - blind leading the blind right? I went and got in my bed, just miserable, this was one of the worst I've ever had - seriously the pain was pretty much unbearable. As I lay there, sweet little Evie snuggled up right beside me, she didn't say a word, she just gently rested her foot on my leg, just to show me she was there. She would whisper softly "does your head hurt?" and when I would open my eyes she would ask, "can you see better yet?" She is a good friend. My four year old daughter is a precious good friend to me. Ben came home, "the medicine man", and helped me find an appropriate perscription to help me fall asleep. I slept pretty much the rest of the day, and I still don't feel 100% (it usually takes a few days) but for now the worst is over. I'm so thankful for my little family, we (even the kids) take good care of each other, I love that kind of security - it's such a blessing.
Thank you for loving on me today Evie, I am so proud of the sweet girl that you are showing yourself to be - you will be a great mommy one day! XO

So sorry you were so sick today---I had migraines for about 3 years and they are almost unbearable. I was delighted to have the unexpected pleasure of your family though at van sant park. We saw 2 full grown turtles (and a turtle fight) 2 holes where they lived, 3 white ducks, 2 mallard ducks, 13 geese, a squirrel, a hawk, a catfish that some one caught and runaway balloons caught in a tree. It was almost in my backyard. Hope you feel better soon. ;) MLK

I LOVE the picture of Evie. She looks so school girlish. Any chance I could get a copy of it from Walmart.com or flickr? MLK
