CPSIA

If you have not heard of the new sweeping laws known as the CPSIA, please take a moment to check it out by clicking here. I've been in denial because there have been so many petitions going around, I've signed everything I could get my hands on, but alas, Aug 14 came and there were no amendments made - boo. This is going to affect my business - a lot! I'm still doing research and making decisions, but I will have to make changes for sure. I am a mother of two little ones, I have great concern over safety as it pertains to children's products, but I am also a consumer of handmade products. This will change my entire world of buying and selling. Say a little prayer for me as I weed through this mess :( There will be many more posts to come on this topic - sadly...

Also, go ahead and read this post on Endangered Whimsy blog (by the way, I think that Ding Bat commenter must have snorted some of the so called "toxics"). On this blog you can see a slide show of products that will NOT be affordable to produce or sell legally under CPSIA. If you are a consumer parent to children under 12, this IS worth your time!
