Blah Blah Bed Rest

Yep, it has come... bed rest for me. I started having contractions on Sunday afternoon and was hospitalized for a couple of hours of monitoring. I contracted all the way to the hospital, and as soon as I laid down with a monitor, it stopped (typical), but I did continue to have uterine "irritability". I was given meds and sent home to sleep. I then had contractions the whole way home in the car and for the rest of the night on Sunday. After a full 24 hours of rest I decided to go about my regular activities - bad idea I guess. I'm now experiencing heavy pressure - the bad kind. If you've had a baby, you know. After reporting my new symptom earlier today, the official word got passed down from my OB... "Bed rest. Indefinitely." At this point, my symptoms leave when I lay down on my left side, so I'm not in preterm labor yet, and hopefully I wont be if I behave (that's the hard part). I'll only be 23 weeks pregnant tomorrow, so I'm looking at a long boring summer. Evie has enjoyed having more of my attention, she's so chatty lately and I suddenly have time to talk all day long (looong). Please pray that she continues to hold up well, she is just such an active little person and now her mommy is not able to play :( I'm holding up well in spite of the "orders" I received today, but I know the hard reality will set in as the weeks go by. I'd love to have visitors if you're up for entertaining me. My cousin, Janie, has already offered me a puppet show - haha!

I don't do puppet shows but I will chat, make you meals, entertain Evie, and maybe even perform a song and dance for you guys. Interested? We'll work out the details later. I am sorry that it has come down to bed rest, but I am so grateful that Annabelle is doing well. I'll call you tomorrow.

Bed rest can be a blessing in disguise. In the future you will probably be able to look back on this time as a special gift from God. Don't be afraid to let other's bless you.

Aren't you the preschool director for VBS?? I guess I won't see you very much this week. I hope there aren't major complications or anything and that you don't get too bored. You might not like the bedrest thing now, but its good for you and your babe!
Well, maybe if I don't see you I'll just have to keep coming back to read your blog! :O)
