This past weekend, we were thrilled to have my cousins, Katie and Janie (and Katie's children, Maisie and Liam) come for a visit. We had planned all outdoor activities ahead of time, all of which were rained out, but we enjoyed ourselves just the same. Our much anticipated trip to the zoo was replaced with a trip to the Museum of Science and History, or MOSH, a surprisingly great place for 2 year-olds. Evie, who has a new infatuation with whales, was so delighted by the full scale model of an adult right whale and calf that she bounced and squealed for a good minute and a half. Other adventures of Evie and Maisie included: up close encounters with Florida wildlife, fish tanks, giant bubble blowers, mirrors, magnets, music making, and more! Needless to say, Evie and Maisie preferred the science over the history. In fact, by the time we reached the history section, the little girls were basically done. This was somewhat disappointing to the three "big girls" (Katie, Janie, and my self) who tend to be history nerds:) We were also able to squeeze in a little shopping over the weekend, always a Wilcox girl favorite. It was all great fun and we were sad to see them go, but we're looking forward to having them back in just a couple of weeks for... Neal and Molly's wedding! More fun to come soon!
